Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I try to get to know the student and what they want to accomplish. This helps me tailor the lesson specifically to the student. Second, I talk with the student about their style and help them learn to develop their own unique approach to creating art.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree in Art Education from East Carolina University. I have been teaching for over 20 years both privately and in Pre-K to adult settings. I currently teach art courses with a local university.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system as of yet. The price structure varies depending on if the lesson is in person or via online methods. If materials/supplies are provided, the price will be adjusted to include those if the student requests this.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when an individual requested a demonstration, which lead to my first class teaching adults how to paint on fabric.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages of students from Pre-K to adult.
