Painting With Nancy

About

I have been teaching art for over 30 years. I have a BA in art education from Towson University. I have been teaching art at ASM Studios in Orlando, Florida for 15 years with children and adults.

I especially enjoy teaching painting techniques to help individuals express themselves and explore their creativity. I believe in providing a positive environment and feedback for all to learn new techniques.

I am extremely flexible about lesson times and will work with to find what is most convenient. I can travel to you, you to I, or you are welcome to sign up with ASM Sudios in Orlando.

You are welcome to view my art on the ASM Studio website or you view some of my art on the online column "Let's Talk Philadelphia".

Hope to hear from you soon!

I love getting to know all kinds of people of all ages. I am very friendly and have a positive outlook on all expressions of art and creativity.

    Frequently asked questions

I usually have an informal discussion about the students' vision of what they would like to achieve, what medium or mediums they would like to explore. I like to then try a first simple drawing or painting so I can get comfortable with their skill and give some simple positive suggestions and just get comfortable working together.

I have a BA from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland in Art Education. I have been teaching art for over 30 years.

My mother was a teacher and seemed to get so much joy from the experiences. So I majored in art education because I loved art and wanted to share my love of it with others.

I have taught children and adults of all ages. I have also taught developmentally delayed students, autistic students and worked with senior citizens in a senior citizen center.

My advice for finding an art teacher is,

    1. Find a teacher that is proficient in the area of art you are interested in, ie. landscapes, portraits, etc.

    2. Find a person you are comfortable working with, sharing your talents at first can be intimidating, so you must feel comfortable.

    3. Find someone who will give you positive feedback.

    1. What medium or mediums you want to explore.

    2. What kind of art you hope to achieve.
