About this pro

I am able to teach anyone-regardless of experience, how to paint like the old masters. If you are looking to be amazed at what you can do in a short time, and to continuously build and improve upon your technique while having fun, please contact me.

I am looking to work with artists that are yearning to have the ability to create from the heart with sincerity. For more information please see www.PortraitPainter.Gallery

I love showing people that it's not 'talent' that creates art, but often just knowing technique. Once you understand the step by step system I use, you will be amazed at what you can do. I infuse you with inspiration and encourage you to paint when I'm not around so you increase your skills quickly.

I truly love what I do, and believe it is a gift that is meant to be shared with others : )

Sheri is an incredible teacher! She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind, funny, everything you want and need in a fine art teacher! Sheri teaches a specific technique that allows ANYONE to create a masterpiece. Past the art itself, Sheri cares about the whole person, and believes so strongly in each student’s individuality and skill. I was amazed at the growth I saw in my own art skill and the painting I produced, but also an inner growth in positive self-talk, creativity and my ability to recognize artists, styles and techniques in the world around me. Taking classes with Sheri will change your life for the better. If you’re hesitating or reading other reviews- stop here, you’ve found the art teacher you never knew you needed right here.

Sheri is one of the most patient and inspiring teachers I’ve ever met. She is incredibly talented and knows just how to share her creative intelligence with people. The art her students have been able to make under her guidance will astound you.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Firstly we set goals as to what style you are looking to learn. Goals may be learning to draw from life, create resin 3-d abstract art, or painting in the style of the Old Masters.

Next, we determine what is in your heart. Have you always wanted to have a show? The sky is the limit and I encourage you to believe in yourself from day one. All you need is a good teacher.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I knew at age 4 I would be an artist, and began serious training at age 12 at the Art School of Oil Painting in NYC. I was blessed to have a master artist as a teacher, and was taught the method of the old masters using oil paints and linen canvas. The method my teacher used was passed down to him from generations of artists and continues to be taught in my studio today. It works, no matter your skill-it's a step by step technique that will change the way you look at things.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

In my studio I offer private and semi private sessions, and will travel to clients that prefer to work out of their own home studio.

How did you get started teaching?

This is a great story-I was painting live at an event (I've painted live at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, on tv, and many various art shows and expos) and a child asked me what I was doing. I stopped painting and started to teach-and for the next seven years ran a brick and mortar studio in Hoboken, NJ called 7 Fine Arts.
