I have been a performing musician for over 50 years and an Instructor on How to play the Conga drum around the world for over 25 years. I am the first ONLINE Conga drum instructor, with pupils around the world,the past 11 years. My curriculum is one of a kind, that i created and have taught at 5 different colleges and universities around America. My course is called "Afro-Cuban/Caribbean Drumming and Music." I also teach all 'styles' from Rock to Pop to Salsa to Rumba and more..I can take you where you need to go to be a proficient Conga drummer and musician.

Johnny Conga is a excellent instructor. I am proud to call him my maestro. You wont be disappointed. He is like a skilled surgeon diagnosing your weaknesses and then skillfully applying the right procedures or in this case exercises that if you practice dutifully will help strengthen your playing taking it to the next level. I highly recommend him.

From pupil...Robert Heym..... I had an on-line lesson with Johnny Conga today; it completely put to rest any concerns at all that I had with the effectiveness of on-line lessons. Within the first few minutes, Johnny Conga had identified the technical flaws that were inhibiting the proper transfer of energy through my hands into the drum, and corrected each one. What an improvement in both relaxation and sound! Then after asking me what I would like to work on, he graciously walked me through a whole gamut of exercises which will undoubtedly save me many, many years of learning time.
I would advise anyone who plays congas, or has in their heart to play congas… get in touch with Johnny Conga. His lifetime of experience has not only made him a great player, but the best of teachers! There is nothing quite like learning from the best!
