About

I am a freelance artist who teaches visual arts and has a masters in education. Currently, I teach at the middle school level which makes it easy to translate my lessons for anyone at any skill level.

I am a natural teacher so so the opportunities I get to share my Passion are invaluable to me. I believe that the things that I've learned in studying illustration scaffolds into a solid foundation for anyone to successfully design and execute their ideas.

My goal is to empower self voice and facilitate skill development that will grow individuals into independent artists.

    Frequently asked questions

I usually start with a simple assignment to see what the skill level is. Isn't Ivan review some of the basic techniques needed to be successful in composition design and execution.

I attended Gibbs high schools Visual arts program through P.C.C.A. (Pinellas County Center for the Arts.) I studied illustration at Ringling School of Art and Design. I've also been working as a freelance visual artist since 2013 and as a professional art educator since 2018.

It depends on the budget and desired experience of the student. I usually start @25/h however if someone wants to have multiple lessons in a week, it goes down to $20/h. I also give my students access to my social media so they can follow along when I do lessons "Live" online.

I have been in education since 2006. I have been teaching  for Pinellas County Schools since 2015 and teaching visual arts specifically since 2018.

I have worked with a variety of students from preschool age to seasoned adults.

I recently painted a movie for a series for a local production company. The image they needed was a little out of my my style range however, I was able to pull it off with only a two day notice.

I would definitely say look for someone who has a background in education. Just because someone knows how to create art doesn't mean they know how to break down the necessary necessary building blocks needed to create successful and visually strong pieces.

Decide exactly what you want the experience to be like. Is it something that you want to do weekly to build skills?....or do you have that one burning idea your just trying to see come to life?...or do you just want to share in the joy of creating?...Know what you're looking to gain from the experience. 😉
