Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With more than 25 years experience, I've developed an" ironclad" system. All student-athletes are required to go through an evaluation process focused on fitness and sport-specific valued skill sets and indicators (e.g., bio mechanics, breathing, footwork, core strength, coordination, strength, speed, agility, and quickness)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Played, coached hundreds, and trained thousands in multiple sports at a high level over a lifetime (D.C., Md., Va, and Fla.). One of the 1st major scholarshipped student-athletes (Track and Football) in the BIG 10 to received a degree in Computer Science - emphasis Artificial Intelligence). All-Academic BIG Ten nominee Football U of Wisconsin. Trained athletes from pee-wee to pro. With multiple certications received for performance, fitness, military and wellness (e.g., NIKE, USATF, Mental Health, CPR). Coached Basketbal AAU/Travel Teams to 32-1. 20 years of speed-N-sport-specific training at the elite HS level (Bishop O'Connell, Flint Hill, Stonebridge). Produced more than 600 champions and All-Americans moving onto every college in the nation. Currently training NFL prospects and veterans in Fla.. As a technologist expert as well I monitor the progrees of my student-athletes anyplace, anywhere, anytime.

Monthly based rates can also be formulated after meeting with family and getting the requirements.
How did you get started teaching?
Created a Program in Palm Beach County, Florida thru a non-profit I operated for the Superintendent of Instruction called The Scholastic Workshop for Excellence and Athletic Training (SWEAT). SWEAT consisted of academics, athletics, and teen awareness workshops in the summer for teen student-athletes. Partners included the Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, teachers, and the U.S. Marines. My efforts to instruct continued Maryland and Virginia. Once my son became of age, I returned to instructing - soccer, basketball, football, track, softball, LAX, wrestling, swimming and baseball.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with student-athletes from every level - beginner to elite to professional that have a variety of gifts (i.e., AP, Honors, spectrum, special learning, ESOL, IEP, etc.).
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Looking at the Ocean or the intracoastal right after a workout and relaxing. Watching a gifted athlete understand as you breakthrough to a new level and "AHA" moment!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Focus on making progress before promoting yourself during these unique times as we adjust to the NEW NORMAL!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Understand the teacher's perspective and pursue seeking the answers on your own first to ask better questions; Understand the two hardest statements most people avoid to often that causes you stress - "I need help!" "I don't know!" Let the teacher or coach know!
