My name is Marién A. Peña. I am a parent,Montessori educator and artist with 20 years of experience in the field. I enjoy learning and obtained a Ph.D. in Eco-Art Therapy/ Organic Psychology from ProjectNature Connect and Akamai University in 2018 and a B.A. from the University of Iowa in Art History and Graphic Design. I've also completed Montessori Education Certifications for ages 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 and graduated from St. Catherine University with a M.A. Ed. in Montessori Education. I currently serve as Field Consultant and Art Teacher for Maitland Montessori School and Teacher Training Program.
I provide art, eco-art activities and tutoring service utiliziing Ecopsychology and Montessori philosophy, material, lessons.
I enjoy watching others built confidence and self-esteem as they learn to create beautiful art and explore their creativity.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching 22 years ago in a private school in Puerto Rico after completing my degree in Arts. I was encouraged by a friend who saw my potential as a teacher. I fell in love with this profession, and here I am 22 years later.
What types of students have you worked with?
During my career as an art teacher I have worked with all ages from preschool to elders.
