My name is Marién A. Peña. I am a parent,Montessori educator and artist with 20 years of experience in the field. I enjoy learning and obtained a Ph.D. in Eco-Art Therapy/ Organic Psychology from ProjectNature Connect and Akamai University in 2018 and a B.A. from the University of Iowa in Art History and Graphic Design. I've also completed Montessori Education Certifications for ages 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 and graduated from St. Catherine University with a M.A. Ed. in Montessori Education. I currently serve as Field Consultant and Art Teacher for Maitland Montessori School and Teacher Training Program.

I provide art, eco-art activities and tutoring service utiliziing Ecopsychology and Montessori philosophy, material, lessons.

I enjoy watching others built confidence and self-esteem as they learn to create beautiful art and explore their creativity.

    Classes are designed based on students' abilities to find their strength and build upon their knowledge. I use the Montessori method to present lessons in math, language and ecology to children ages 6-12 years old. My approach is simple and effective. My students learn to be active observants and understand the world round them. Learning drawing skills is primordial to all other artistic disciplines.
    I hold a degree in Art/ Art History and Graphic Design from the University of Iowa. In 2018, I obtained a Doctorate degree in Eco-Art Therapy and Organic Psychology from Akamai University. I've been an Art teacher since 1996 in private schools in Puerto Rico and Florida. I am also a certified Montessori teacher from pre-school to upper elementary.
    All lessons , whether art or tutoring, will be presented through an online platform. Art lesson are one hour in a group setting. The cost per lesson is $17 per participant. Individual tutoring sessions are 30 minutes. You can schedule severla sessions during the week from Monday through Friday. The cost per session is $30. A variety of media will be provided (Drawing, Acrylic Painting, Beginning Watercolor). Lessons are one hour and are priced as follows: (Currently not available)

    2 students - $55

    3 students - $85

    I started teaching 22 years ago in a private school in Puerto Rico after completing my degree in Arts. I was encouraged by a friend who saw my potential as a teacher. I fell in love with this profession, and here I am 22 years later.

    During my career as an art teacher I have worked with all ages from preschool to elders.
