What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initial contact for a new student is where I gather preliminary information; what gear do you shoot with, how long have you been doing photography and what do you consider your skill level to be? I tailor each class to my specific clients point of need.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 1000's of hours in combined shooting, editing, taking classes and teaching.

How did you get started teaching?
A friend of mine took 4 night college photography classes and was unhappy with those results. We went on a hike one day and she asked me questions about photography. She said, "I learned more from you in a couple of hours than I did taking those classes. You have to teach." So, I started teaching.

Everything from cell phone classes to long exposures, advanced shooting.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be honest about what you know and understand.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What areas are you struggling with? Do you put time into learning your craft? What are you hoping to accomplish? Are you willing to put the time in to improve? Are you willing to take suggestions?
