About
I have taught art lessons to children and adults for over 25 years. I teach oil, pastel, watercolor, and acrylic. I am patient and am cognizant of the fact that different people have different abilities, interests and goals. Most of my students developed to be instructors and professional artists. My students age range has been from 5 to 103 years old.
I also paint as a profession. My website is jiladavoodiart.com
I love art and love seeing people enjoy doing it. Art brings inner peace. During my lessons, both my students and myself forget everything else and just focus on enjoying our masterpiece

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I need to first know what their goal is. Then I will evaluate their skills. Based on the skill I will develop a plan that we both can be comfortable with to reach the student’s goal
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended an Art school about 27 years ago. I have been teaching adults and children for 25 years in private and group settings.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My tuition is $35 a session of about 2 hours each in an individual/private class I would like one month tuition on the first session and monthly tuition paid in advance thereafter.
How did you get started teaching?
After graduating from the art academy and working about 4 years as an artist, I was encouraged by my peers to teach. It was a success! By word of mouth, I had about 64 students a week in 8 groups, five days a week.
Approximately 10 years ago, I started private classes.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have had children and adult students of different levels, beginners to advanced who wanted to polish their skills
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
It was fun to have one of my former students and I be in an art show at the same time. As a teacher it is always enjoyable to see your students reach the level of confidence and ability to be side by side with you and compete.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure there’s a right chemistry between you and the teacher and that the teacher has your goals and interest in mind
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Make sure your goals and interest are clear. YOUR goals should be priority and the teacher’s interest should be aligned with yours.
