I teach small groups and individuals for up to four hours per class. I prefer to teach on location in parks, cities, beaches, wherever subject matter is located that my students wish to peruse. I can teach phone, mirrorless or DSLR photography.
I have written small books to sublement my classes with examples taken directly from my own work. These books are included in the cost of the class. I offer them digitally, so you can download them and have them wherever you are.
It's wonderful to see the amazement on a students face when they create a beautiful photo during class or on their own after class.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have a phone meeting so we can go over photo equipment and get to know each other.
Once we set up a lesson time, I offer the first half an hour at no cost to the student as face time to get to know each other better.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Filmmaking with a photography minor. My award winning work has been represented by local galleries.

My prices are simple...
Individual $60 for an hour and a half intensive, personalized, on-location instruction. I offer the first half an hour free as a getting know each other time
INCLUDED:
Personalized, intensive on-location instruction and short digital books of examples with short explanations. I also include a critic with suggestions for improvement for up to three photos submitted to me after each lesson.
Anyone can shoot in Manual Mode with their DSLR, Mirrorless, or point and shoot. I teach phone photography, as well. I will teach all of the basic functions as well as composition, lighting and many other creative techniques.
I ALSO TEACH:
Lightroom Mobile, Lightroom CC. I have found that Photoshop CC is expensive and not as intuitive for new students to photo editing than Lightroom.
Group rate $40 per person with a four-person minimum for a three-hour session. This includes my digital book, as well. Please contact me for more information. I prefer groups of no more than eight people. I wish to offer the best experience possible.
How did you get started teaching?
A friend asked if I could teach his wife and I ran with it!
I am having so much fun seeing my students photography improve.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with mostly older adults and will continue to work with adults. I would love to work with teenagers who have a passion for photography.
I would also enjoy teaching Girl and Boy Scout troops, preferably during a camping trip.
If a potential student is under 16, I require the parent to contact me to make all arrangements. Parents can place a note in the "Note" section that they are doing the research, so I'm immediately aware that the parent is involved.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and a man asked a few questions about his photography. After just a few minutes, I helped him realize a simple mistake he was making. When we spoke again later in the day, he saw an immediate improvement in his images.
