Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually talk with them to figure out about their experiences, who they are as a person and how they best learn. Once I establish a connection with them, and understand what they want as well as the experience they are looking for; I will find the best approach to accomplish their goals. I am about having fun with the process of learning something new. If you aren't enjoying the journey or the process of experimenting with the materials than I want to change my approach til you are. Life is too short for you not to enjoy everything you do.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had lession since I was 8years old. I have a Fine Arts Degree with a minor in Art Therapy from University of Tampa, and work in all art mediums. I love to teach people to have fun with art.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No I do not have a standard pricing system, I like to know more about my clients before I quote them a price.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught children art since high school and adults since i was in college and continue on into the present.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types, very young, young, older adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who wants to cater to how you learn, and focuses on the process and the experimentation with the materials versus focusing on the technique, the technical comes with playing with the materials and experimenting with the various processes. The end result is less important than the process, if you enjoy the process it will reflect that in your end result.
