What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First and for most we'll strech and do some dynamic workouts, as well as get to know each other and get familiarized on what is best for you moving forward. Next we will move on to proceed to light shooting and dribbling drills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing and praticing basketball for 10 years and have taught for 7 years in Dominican Republic and USA. I am currently working on being a certified personal trainer as well increase my knowledge overall in all aspects.
How did you get started teaching?
I started off when i finished practice with my trainer and stayed and watch how he show little kids and later on help him to some degree. And when one of the kids i helped came to me a year later in a tournment he told i tought him a lot and thank me for helping him play better. (Same kid won MVP the next year in the tournment)
What types of students have you worked with?
Has of right now i have work with kids ages 7-14 years old boys and girls, but i am open to all ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Feb,2016 i attended a basketball camp in Orlando were i learned a lot form all my coaches and the trainers there and really help me grow my game more and see the game more clearly.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say you should look for some experienced and who you are comfortable working with and that is able to help you in what you need and to learn on with you and to keep learning on to best help you be prepare and get better.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should know there game and limitations, as well as to have some idea on what they want to improve on and if that trainer can help them.
