About
I believe there are a few things that set me apart as a basketball trainer. The first is my eye for the details. Whether it is different athletic movements, ball handling, shooting, etc., I am able to recognize the right way to do it and then help hold a player accountable.
The second area is my ability to connect with players. Having been a player at a high level, I know what players need to hear when it comes to learning a new skill. It is not just about what a coach/trainer knows, but what they can teach to their players. I believe that I communicate with players better than anyone else.
The third skill that sets me apart as a basketball trainer is my ability to correctly demonstrate different skills and moves. If a player is able to learn from both vocal instruction and visual instruction, they are going to be able to learn at a much higher rate.
I love the game of basketball and enjoy being around it in pretty much any facet. The thing that I really like about skill development though is seeing a players growth as they continue to put in the time working hard.
The other area that makes it worthwhile is the relationships that you make along the way. There is a special connection between players and coaches that really care about players. My training philosophy is all about the players.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student is going to be different and is going to have different training needs. So the first step is evaluating a player's specific needs. From here we will be able to come up with a game plan that is going to fit that player and help them accomplish their basketball goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played Division One college basketball where I was a 1,000 point scorer and one of the highest-ranked shooters in the country. I also played professionally in Spain.
As a coach and trainer, I have worked with a large number of college and professional basketball players, as well as players that are just starting out.
I have run basketball camps and done training in Poland, Israel, Czech Republic, Spain, Slovakia, England, Germany, and the Dominican Republic.
Along with in-person basketball training, I also own BasketballHQ.com where I help players and coaches all around the world with online basketball training.
How did you get started teaching?
Having been a player myself and benefited from excellent trainers as I continued through my career, I know much it helped me. So know that I am done playing, I want to help players pursue their basketball dreams and goals.
My passion for basketball and helping players improve is what made me want to start training.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with basketball players of all levels. From elementary-aged players all the way up to professional basketball players. I enjoy working with all levels of players and helping them get better at their pace.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking for a basketball trainer, it is important that you find a trainer that not only knows what they are talking about but is able to teach it in a way that allows players to understand it.
The second key is making sure that the trainer is working on skills that are game-like. There are drills that are fancy and look good but don't always translate to game play. So make sure that the drills are adding real value to a player's game.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Every player is going to be different and has different needs and goals. So before meeting with a basketball trainer, think about what you want to accomplish from your training. The better you are able to set goals, the better your trainer will be able to help you achieve them.
