I am an experienced tutor for learners of ALL ages. I have been a full-time tutor since 2009, and have worked with hundreds of clients, ranging from ages 4 to 63! Before becoming a full-time tutor, I was a classroom teacher (15+ years), a teacher-educator (ie: I taught teachers), and a school consultant.
I have a BS in Education from University of Cincinnati, was certified as a teacher in Ohio. I also hold two teaching credentials from the American Montessori Society.
Tutoring can range from $30 to $45 per hour, depending on the length of the sessions, and the type of payment plan that you choose.
In my tutoring, I use many hands-on manipulative materials, including Montessori materials; my goal is to help students really understand the concepts, rather than just memorizing the steps to get the answer, as many tutors do!
Tutoring Available In:
* MATH: elem through geometry and algebra 2 (at any age)
* LANGUAGE: all levels / ages: grammar, reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary
* TEST PREP: SAT, ACT, ASVAB, GED, FTCE, TEAS, GRE, GMAT, PERT, LSAT, and other tests
* SCIENCE: middle and high school biology and chemistry
* SPECIAL NEEDS: dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, processing delays
* HOMESCHOOL: academics, enrichment (Consulting also available.)
* OTHER: study skills, organizational strategies, public speaking
