About
I offer fun experiences for people who are starting out in art. The participant takes home inspiration, information and a piece of their own art.
My primary goals are to engage you/your child with a creative project each week, using varying media. My intention is to teach exploration and communication. My desire is to provide an enjoyable experience which enriches life between lessons. There is much scientific evidence that art rejuvenates the brain.
Lessons are custom designed for each student. Measure progress over time in confidence, and ability to express an individual point of view. The awareness gained from this experience will be supportive of your/your child’s individuality and wisdom.
Art will enrich your life and the lives of those you share it with.
Professionally, I paint on silk, and have explored this medium for 25 years.
As well as Art Lessons, I can provide a silk painting experience that is both fun and challenging and you get super results.
You can learn the Silk Painting process in a more serious manner and paint your idea with masterpiece technique over several sessions. I advise you every step of the way on how to get the effect you want.
I provide attentive, encouraging instruction and NEVER touch the students work. I provide sample silk canvases for experimentation and learning. I offer individual instruction, and small group experiences.
My silk paintings can be seen at Baisden Gallery, Tampa, ( near Mise en Place and Oxford Exchange); in Tarpon Springs, you can see my work at Sunshine Supplies Gallery.
I have been a self supporting artist for 30 years. I am self taught, my degree is in English Lit.

I love seeing the work my students produce. I love the creative ferment which arises when two minds ( or more) collaborate.
I am inspired to create when i inspire others to create. As I devise art exercises for participants, i undertake them myself first and that is fun for me too.
I think Art gives access to "inner Dimensions" - we all have them. They are what is in common to us all, and yet everyone's "inner Dimensions" are unique. That is why our art is such an important part of our life, it is a communication with our "soul" which may or may not resonate with others - it will resonate with kindred souls. There is a percentage of kindred souls out there in the big wide world. Finding a way into our own "Soul' enables us to see the "soul" in others. And that can only be good.
