I have taught school to K4 to 4th grade kids, so I'm patient and I explain things so they are easy to understand. I'm also an active professional photographer shooting events, weddings, sports, and portraits several times a month, so I can offer real world practical advice to photographers. I've shot more than 30 weddings by myself and more than 400 events from tiny birthday parties to huge benefit balls for over 1000 people in the last 15 years, and I've learned alot along the way that I can pass on to you.
I love having a camera in my hand. Just love it. When I walk into a room with a camera, I KNOW that I will talk to everyone there and have fun, regardless if its a huge ballroom or a small living room. I have a big sense of humor and its just too fun to share it with people, to make them look their best, and to make a photo of when they looked great. Without a camera, I'm almost shy. I also love the creative process and paracticing trial and error to gets things right.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get things moving and keep them moving, so we would start by shooting alot of photos. I can determine your expertise, or lack thereof :) from sharing those photos, then we'll revisit those shots and work on settings to improve those shots while I drop bits of advice along the way. Every student is different, so every class will be different. Subsequent classes will be more planned once I know what you know and how you could best improve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have no formal photography training, but I've shot more than 400 events in Tampa Bay professionally, so I can say I got my degree from the School of Hard Clicks. I taught computers to schoolchildren for three years, so I tend to keep technical things simple to understand.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$95 for the first lesson and $75 for any subsequent lessons. All subsequent lessons last a hour, and i'll give you 'homework' to do before and after each lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I shot a wedding and the bride loved my photography and easy laid back way with people (she said), and she called me afterward to learn more about her camera. Now she takes nice pictures of her toddlers!
