What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We discuss the current level of expertise, identify goals, and then take the camera out into the field for hands-on instruction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Four years of teaching middle school and high school science, plus several years designing and working in interactive museums. Many years volunteering for the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. Nineteen years as photographer/owner of Pezz Photo.

$75/hr or $100 for two hours.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always taught: swimming lessons, then environmental education, outdoor education/ropes course, as a science teacher, then museum designer. It's just natural to continue teaching as a photographer.
What types of students have you worked with?
middle school, high school, museum visitors of all ages, high-risk kids, children in the foster care system, adults wanting to learn how to use their digital cameras
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire someone you feel comfortable with and whose work you like!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your stumbling blocks? What are your goals? What images are you proud of? What would you like to photograph? How do you learn?
