About
A photographer with a passion for photography, that does not follow the rules, who enjoys taking pictures in the moment. I take pictures that show emotion, express thoughts, drive stories and pull people into the moment. I have been capturing the moment on film and digital combinded for 25+ years. I love all types of cameras, I myself shoot with several types including a Holga 120mm Film Camera, Olympus OM-G 35mm, D3300, D7200 and random cameras that I find at 2nd hand stores
I am not going to teach a standard class, technical perfection, rules and other by the book stuff are not going to be taught. What I will teach is how to have fun, how to capture moments and to not worry about selling them, having them featured or changing them to fit someone elses idea of the moment. I will not teach how to fake images by changing them or adding/subtracting stuff from the image.
I do not shoot staged or model photographs. What will be taught and what I do is moment, landscape, street, architechure and wildlife.

Capturing moments in time for telling stories, reaching peoples hearts and drawing emotion. I love looking back on my work years later and seeing the change, the emotions and I do love seeing my work in print.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Pretty much a get to know with a determination of intention, getting to know if they are only wanting to learn so they can do emotionless money making photography or have a true passion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
What I have learned I have learned over a lifetime of capturing the moments and feeding my passion. In high school I did take some classes but after that the next 15+ years have been growing and learning and yes I continue to learn more and more every single day.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
First and foremost I want to help everyone who wants to learn, who has a passion for photography so for me the pricing is open for what a person can afford. The pricing would be per lesson and I would be able provide a camera for use but not the best camera.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching different things for roughly 13 years. I get into sharing my passion with people when I finally was able to start affording it more and felt proud when I gave a kid who asked me for my old camera cause he could not afford a new one, at which point I provided him the camera and mentorship.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have a passion, have a goal and just want to learn to just capture the moment. Don't worry about money, don't worry about becoming the next great and rememeber that your work is your work no one else.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I have a passion for photography or do I just want to snap pictures?
Do I want to be my own person and not worry about if others like or love my photos?
Do I know what I want and are you willing to capture it?
