About this pro

My background is based in Bhakti Yoga with RYT 200 Certification from the well-respected Kashi Atlanta Urban Yoga Ashram and deep practices with spiritual educator and leader, Swami Jaya Devi.

I invite you to practice Yoga not only on your mat, represented in the Asanas (physical postures), but also throughout your daily life by living in awareness, being mindful of the Yamas & Niyamas (spiritual do's & don'ts), and using the breath as a tool to reduce or eliminate stress and anxiety.

The practice I offer will allow you to align your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual facets.  We will stretch and strengthen your physical body providing more flexibility and mobility, practice Chakra work to align all aspect of our energy bodies, and connect the body with the breath to revitalize you with the life force energy that allows you to approach life with more ease, pleasure, confidence, love, and compassion.

As Philosopher William James said, "A chain is no stronger than its weakest link, and life after all is a chain."  My practices focus on strengthening each link.

My given name, Prema Ma, translates to "Mother of Love" and was chosen for me because of my genuine love for people and  my life path of sharing that love and teaching others how to live a more loving and loved path.

Nothing compares to the reward of watching my practitioners transform their entire lives to one that is healthier and happier all around.

The Lotus and the Lion understands the variety that can be in one class. She addresses both the mental and physical needs of clients in her class. It is not just a class with a set sequence, it a time adjusted for you. I feel challenged both mentally and physically after each session and I would highly recommend.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Let's meet or chat first to go over your most desired results.  I want to learn about anything you're struggling with and/or any goals you have; this can be physically, emotionally, spirtually, or even in your life with career, relationships, creativity, motivation, clarity in decisions, and more!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am an RYT200 Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor from Kashi Urban Yoga Ashram with deep spiritual practices under Swami Jaya Devi, her teacher Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati, and the lineage guru, Neem Karoli Baba.

I am also a Certified Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher internationally accredited by the CPD and IMMA having studied under Dr. Itai Ivtzan, found and director of the School of Positive Transformation.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing can be per class or per month based on a regular schedule of classes.  Pricing may vary slightly based on location and whether you are praciting alone or with a friend/family member.

How did you get started teaching?

I knew I wanted to help people...I knew I wanted to make people feel more loved and to help them feel more love for others, but I didn't know how I would do that.  One week when I was stressed out with life and work, feeling short tempered, a little lost in life, extra impatient, and stiff and sore getting out of bed in the morning, I thought..."I need to go to Yoga.  Yoga will fix this." That's when the lightbulb went off; "I need to teach Yoga!" And that was just the beginning!
