For The Love Of Basketball Fundamentals
About
I enjoy coaching because I really enjoy the look on a players face when they "get it" and are able to put it into a game and become a better player. I think all players have unlimited potential it's just a matter of learning what's comfortable for the individual. I've coached a women's recreational team for a short period of time and individual players I've played with or against in streetball games. I've been playing basketball since I was 6 or 7 yrs old, and competitively from 15yrs old to now. Also I played my freshman year in high school (where I averaged 6 or 8 points a game, we were suppose to pass the ball 8 or 9 times before a shot, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I wasn't very good at scoring off the dribble but I developed exceptional passing skills ) but I only practiced with the varsity the remaining three years because of poor grades. Even though I didn't get to play in the games , in practice however, I thrived on locking down the whichever player I was guarding and being a pest on defense in general. I also won two back-to-back intramural championships my junior and senior year in high-school. So, overall I feel as though I have a lot to teach any willing student, but in reality, every student I ever coached taught me a lot about myself as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student varies so I would have to see what the individual's skill set is and go from there. Since I've never been a licensed coach I feel like my methods will be unorthodox and fresh, so the students should be challenged differently. I think it will also be a very player friendly approach, and I'm also open to changing anything a student feels is boring.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Just my experience through playing high intensity pic up games.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No standard whatever fits the individual.
How did you get started teaching?
For the love of helping people who ask me questions.
What types of students have you worked with?
Usually teens from 12 to 18
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure whomever you learn from, that they're able to show you how it's used in a game and where.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What it is they're struggling with and why they think that is.
