About
As your instructor for firearms, our first priority will always be safety. I am a seasoned trainer and work especially well with new shooters or folks who haven't been to the range in a while. I am calm, patient, and focused on your needs. Preparing for Concealed Carry? Need help selecting a firearm? Wanting to improve your shooting? These are all services that I'm well practiced in.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For firearms training, I prefer to meet in a safe place, such as the classroom at the range, to work through the academic portion and the basic handling, cleaning, loading portions. This takes about an hour, and I have slides and videos to help. Then we walk over to the range and practice for about an hour. I am fanatical about safety, and you should be too!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained and worked with firearms since I was a child. I received extensive training and practice from the military, and I have successfully completed the NRA training course for Instructors as well as the NRA course for Range Safety Officers.. I am a competitive shooter in my spare time.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
How did you get started teaching?
In the Army, I discovered that I was a great shot naturally, so I was often assigned to help other shooters who were struggling. I developed a supportive coaching technique that subsequent experience and training has refined. Incidentally, I have a degree in teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
Over the years I have coached shooters from almost all walks of life. After the Pulse nightclub incident, I worked with many members of the LGBTQ+ community. I've worked with young adults, women, violence survivors, and intermediate shooters who wanted to get to the next level. One of my hobby activities is running a tactical match on Monday nights. In this capacity I also work with intermediate and advanced shooters
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who will meet you at your level of experience and comfort and who emphasizes safety and responsibility.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Just have the desire to learn, and we can work through the rest.
