Get high quality training from a US Navy Veteran with over 30 years experience in firearms. Everyone should be safe and proficient with their firearm and that is the goal of Ophidian Tactical. The 2A community is growing. Train with someone that can offer quality guidance efficiently and safely.
My introduction to firearms began way back in 1988. I was a young Navy Petty Officer who knew absolutely nothing about guns. But, I trained hard and grew to appreciate guns. Over the years, I've owned a few firearms and I would occasionally go to the range but nothing serious. I would have people that would ask about guns because they knew I had knowledge but that was bout it.
Fast forward a few decades and know everyone wants to know about guns. Should they own one for self defense, should they carry one everyday? (Of course they answer is yet). I decided to take my skills to the next level. I started researching everything I could about guns and eventually decided on becoming an instructor. I signed up for a great class with South Atlanta Firearms instructed by Oliver Price. The class was very in-depth and also had a medical component that allowed me to get several medial certificates like First Aid and Stop the Bleed.
This firearm journey has been worth it. I get to teach something I love and see people get value out of something that I teach. Students will sign up online to take a structured course or one on one training.

How did you get started teaching?
I really wanted to help new gun owners. I saw that there were a lot of people buying guns for the first time but were reluctant to get training.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with experienced shooters and people that have never held a gun before.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A student in my last class had never held a gun before and at the end of the day she was the best in the class and still has no desire to own a gun.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Research and find the best training for you and for your situation.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do i want a gun? What will I be using it for? Am I going to carry it everyday or just use it for home protection?
