What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask them about their classes and I give a pretest to see where they are. I ask them where they feel they need the most help and after giving a thorough assessment, I know where to start working with them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing the piano since I was seven years old. I have taken private lessons and lessons at school.
I'm a certified teacher and an NTA certified tutor.

How did you get started teaching?
My family members wanted to learn how to play the piano and I started teaching them.
I also used to tutor my family members and neighbors and friends. It just grew from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children and adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have a current student that was reading on a Kindergarten level and is now reading on a second grade level after 9 months of working with me.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask questions. Ask about their teaching style and how they measure results.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
For piano: Style, books, practice needs, type of music they want to play.
For tutoring: Style, if they give homework, do they contact the teachers, will you challenge me?
