My name is AJ Hirsch and I am a professional guitar and piano instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience. I have been teaching guitar professionally since 2012 and I have developed a very high quality, engaging, and successful system for students of all ages and abilities. For each lesson I provide customized sheet music, tablature, chord charts, and practice material in mp3 and PDF formats. You also will be sent a private link to a sheet music player where you can slow down, speed up, loop sections, use a metronome, and several other features that can be highly beneficial to your practice using the pages I write for you. I also record each lesson and put all files in a shared dropbox folder that you can access at any time to ensure you have everything you need to practice during the week! If you don't know how to read sheet music, guitar tablature, or chord charts, don't worry! You will learn all of that and be able to pick it up very quickly!
I love seeing students learning their favorite songs, learning new skills and techniques and seeing the "light bulb" moment go off! So, if you are interested but are on the fence about taking lessons online I offer a FREE trial lesson so you can try before you buy. It is also a great way for me to access your current skill level and build a customized lesson plan moving forward.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I offer a free 30 minute free lesson for new students so we can meet each other, and so I can learn what your goals are and where you are in your journey so that I can put together a personalized lesson plan to get you where you want to be. It's also a great time for the you to ask questions!

I took lessons from a music store in my hometown, Columbus, Ga all 4 years that I was in highschool. Shortly before I graduated I was offered a teaching position and I have been teaching ever since!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In November of 2021, my band from highschool, Lost on Lemans, did a 10 year reuinion show at a venue back home in Columbus, ga and we sold it out with nearly 300 people in attendance!
