I am a Self-taught artist and a single mother who uses high-school skills and my own expertise to teach people simple painting techniques.My services include drawing and painting commission portraits, cartoons and murals upon request, hosting and instructing paint & sip events (public and private parties) teaching groups of people of all ages (5-30 total) how to paint simple murals while they enjoy refreshments and other local entertainment. Available for live paintings as well. I am in the process of becoming a certified paint instructor, having taught over 30 different classes for over 100+ hours.
I LOVE working with people and interacting with them! I really enjoy building their confidence as painters and teaching them to enjoy the freedom of painting, and the techniques behind them.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We would start with assessing their basic skill level in drawing & sketching, and their understanding of colors.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took art classes in highschool, and have been teaching groups of people (all ages) at paint & sip parties for the past 3 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$60hr/ per student + 1-time cost of initial supplies ($40)
$45/hr for Groups of 2 or more students, + 1-time cost of inital supplies ($40 per person)
Up to 2 hours of class time per day, per student or group.
How did you get started teaching?
My older sister asked me to host a paint class for her birthday 4 years ago. I noticed I really enjoyed interacting with everyone, AND teaching the fundamentals of painting as well. It was a win-win for everyone involved.
What types of students have you worked with?
Eager & creative! Students that aren't afraid to make mistakes and excercise their freedom.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love all art shows and creatively collaborative events! Live Music, vendors, and amazing art around certain themes.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is patient and makes you feel comfortable! Painting is about freedom of expression and learning to trust yourself and the process.
