What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would alsways say to do a consultation first, because yoga is not only fitness it is a practice that heals the body and mind and opens the heart. I think in hiring a teacher that teacher should be aware of all of the aspects of yoga. From breathing to movement to meditation to its ability to heal.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What type of yoga the teacher specializing in?
All types of yoga are not suitable for everyone. For instance a senior would benefit from hatha and restorative. The movement is slower, use of props can be added if needed. It will serve as strengthening and good stretching for the body when combined.
