About

Dr. Inna Staneva began her music studies at age six in her native Russia. During her studies at the College of Music in Kursk, she won several awards at regional competitions including Kursk Young Artist Competition and Voronezh Woodwind Regional Competition in Russia, and participated in International Flute Competition “Domenico Cimaroso” in Italy.

After completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Music Performance degrees with summa cum laude from Saratov State Conservatory in Russia, Ms. Staneva moved to Texas, then to California. In addition to her music degrees from Russia, she completed her Master’s degree majoring in flute performance at the University of North Texas in 2007, and her Doctoral in Musical Arts degree in 2014. As a graduate student in Texas, Dr. Staneva participated in the Young Artist of Texas Music Teachers Association competition in 2010. As soloist and chamber musician, Dr. Staneva performs with various ensembles and orchestras.

Throughout her career, Dr. Staneva studied with notable Russian pedagogues Marina Nyaga, Anatoly Churilov and Eugene Balashov, as well as American professors Elizabeth McNutt, Terri Sundberg and Helen Blackburn. She performed in master classes with Professors Renee Siebert, Jim Walker, Philip Dikeman, Leone Buyse and Ian Clarke. Dr. Staneva also has a private studio of flute and piano students, and is often asked to be a juror on various competitions and a master teacher in music festivals.
