About

Ann's Studio is a creative place for people to come together, learn something new and make beautiful things. There are no rules, just good, messy fun. We believe that each piece should be as unique as the artist who created it so while instructors will offer instructions, tips and guidance they will also encourage everyone to add their own personal sytle - there's nothing "cookie-cutter" about Ann's Studio!

Unlike most art & project studios, Ann's Studio offers projects and instruction across a wide variety of art forms - because who wants to do the same thing all the time? We offer everything from painting (but not just on canvases and not all the same size!) to wire jewelry making, home decor and kids projects.

Ann's Studio offers both instructional classes based on specific techniques as well as open studio time where you can work on whatever suits your mood. Don't have time to make it yourself? We do custom work, plus we have a large selection of handmade items and original artwork available for purchase.

We believe that anyone can create beautiful art if they are shown how. As a self-taught artist, Jenna tries to break projects down into simple steps that make sense to "regular" people. We want to encourage creativity, not intimidate people!

After graduating with a chemistry degree from Georgia Tech and spending my career working in market research, I have finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up! I have always been "artsy craftsy" - I get it from my Nono (my Grandma, Ann) who the studio is nammed after. But in the last few years I have found my passion in art. While painting is still my favorite I absolutely love trying new things and learning different techniques. After selling my art for a couple of years, recently a good friend encouraged me to make my passion my full time job - and Ann's Studio was born! We've been open for almost 2 months now and I've been loving every minute of it.

Frequently asked questions

I don't have a typical process as I believe each person is unique and needs to be treated as such. I first try to understand each individual I work with to see what they already know, what they want to accomplish, and what (if any) fears or concerns they may have. I then break down whatever we are working on into simple steps and guide them through the project, demonstrating techniques, offering tips, tricks and advice as needed.

I don't think that students necessarily need to think anything through before sharing their needs other than the fact that they need something/have a question. That's what a teacher is there for, to help someone learn and grow.
