About

People who never considered themselves “artists” are energized by what they create! Parents of special needs children have me come to their homes to provide some creative outlet and sense of pride. And I have worked with elderly clients in assisted living facilities, some of whom had never picked up a paintbrush before!

I love that quiet moment, the "Zen" of creating and becoming completely absorbed in the process. Art truly takes us within ourselves and out of ourselves at the same time.

Beth was very patient and creative in getting myself, a challenged artist, into creating a painting I love and am proud of! Her technique can help anyone.

My husband bought an art session from Art in a Cart for a Christmas gift for our family last year. My college aged kids loved it!! Beth brought everything we needed and set up all our supplies and individual canvases. Then she guided us through painting a beautiful Tuscan landscape picture. We are all beginners and we learned so much and had a lot of fun. I highly recommend Art in a Cart!!

I have worked with Beth several times on art outreach projects and I can say she is thorough, well prepared, and well organized. The projects were beautiful and of interest to a good span of ages of children, teachers, and parents. You wont be disappointed!

    Frequently asked questions

It takes a few sessions to eke out exactly what the student is striving for and that is all part of the "fun" of the process.

Some folks think they want to start out with a certain medium and that's fine...but when new materials are introduced they can start to discover their own unique style and approach.

I have a BFA in Fine Art, many years working as a Graphic Designer and Art Director in Atlanta,GA and 8 years working as a Special Needs Paraprofessional in an elementary setting.

I have been doing private lessons and parties for 7 years now.

    I charge $40 for a 90 minute session.

I also have packages. Most people purchase a 4 Session Package for $150.00

I had always dreamed of an Art in the Cart model of instructing and doing parties on site in people's homes. This was years before the "Brick & Mortar" establishments opened up about 10-15 years ago.

My "youngest" student is 92 years old!! She approached me 2 years wanting to learn to paint. She is incredibly proud of herself and has set up a small gallery of her work in her basement.

I have years of working with Special Needs folks, groups of women sipping wine and relaxing, families and children's birthday parties.

A wonderful event in Ellijay, GA where the morning was spent doing Yoga on the deck overlooking Carter's Lake and the afternoon was spent painting!

Make sure you feel comfortable with your instructor. It is meant to be a relaxing experince where your inner artist can shine.

Ask the instructor questions about their individual style and ask to see references of their pieces.

If you are going for a  Masterful, Traditional approach you might not gel with a more whimsical, loose or even ephermeral style.
