About
Our training program is exclusively designed to enhance the physical abilities of the athletes that we train. All drills that are demonstrated during training mimic specific activities that occur during an actual basketball game. The reason being is because we understand the importance of the specificity of training and how it can help improve an athlete’s ability to perform on the court. Due to the fact that agility, mobility, and basketball skill retention is the corner stone of our training program; our training consist of post, guard,& wing development with extensive drill work in offensive and defensive techniques...not to mention resistance training, basketball-specific agility drills, speed and power drills, and more...
Along with physical training, we spend a lot of time developing our client’s mental game as well. All of our clients who come under our training program learn to develop a strong mindset that can handle any game situation along with whatever their opponents on the court and coaches throw at them. It is understood by us as well as our clients that physical success is not possible unless mental success accompanies it. Therefore, we balance the two in our training by creating planned workouts for our clients that promote achievement rather than failure.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our typical process for working with our new athletes is first, we give all our first-time clients a FREE Introductory Training session. We want our athletes and parents to get a feel for our training so they can determine if we are what they are looking for in a basketball skill developer. Therefore; we put our first-time athletes through a series of basic fundamental drills so we can observe our athletes strenghts and weaknesses. Afterwards, we try and group them with other athletes who share the same strenghts and weaknesses and "custom" design them a basketball workout to help them develop as a player.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our trainers have played on all levels and have trained athletes on all levels. Our education range from Bachelors to Masters in variuos fields of study.
All of our trainers have been coaching and training 10++ years and we enjoy it. We have helped countless athletes reached their full potential on and off the court. From grade school to professional and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon!

How did you get started teaching?
Hoop University Basketball was found in 2007 by Chasity Bowman, former SPSU (Southern Polytechnic State University) shooting guard. She played for the Lady Hornets during its 2003-2006 basketball seasons, while prior to that, she attended Atlanta Metro Junior College and played for the Lady Panthers during its 2002 basketball season as well. Over the course of her career, Chasity overcame many barriers as a player and as a result received athletic merits for her basketball achievements, such as Outstanding Freshmen and an offer to go overseas and try-out for an international team in Bonn, Germany.
Passion for Basketball and Kids
Due to Chasity’s passion for helping young athletes reach their full potential in basketball…..she decided to end her career as a player and become a skill developer instead. In order to become more knowledgeable about skill development as well as the business itself, Chasity formed an intern under her basketball trainer, Dorian Lee, Founder & CEO of B’Ball 101 and the Saved by the Ball Foundation. With the knowledge and skills gained from working with Dorian for more than three years; Chasity decided to combine the tools that Dorian gave her with her innovative training style and form Hoop University skill development program.
Best Atlanta Female Basketball Trainer (aka “The Godmother”)
Chasity has proven countless times to be one of the top female trainers in Atlanta; therefore; in 2014 she was chosen by Lee Miller; Ceo & Founder of Elite Hoops, to become a Nike Elite Skills Camp Trainer. Also, she trains several AAU teams in the Metro Atlanta area, such as the Georgia Pistols; which have been two-time National Champions of the “New Orleans in the Bayou Tournament.” Not to mention where she became a partner with Marietta City Parks and Recreation basketball organization along with SPSU Women’s’ Basketball Program to bring the first ever “No Ball Player Leff Behind” accelerated program to help train athletes who did not make their school teams so that they can have a better shot at making the team the following season….as a result, more than half the participants made their school team that following year. Finally, she has currently teamed up with i9 Sports of Atlanta where the both of them are building athletes together one day at a time.
