About
My name is Geoffrey Uhal, and I am a Ph.D. student (A.B.D. status, estimated completion date of December 2024) of interdisciplinary History and Archaeology. I possess undergraduate degrees in History and two subfields of Anthropology, I possess graduate degrees in History and Public Administration, and I am here to teach you and/or your children the elements of a classical education rooted in History, Civics, Rhetoric, and Philosophy. These subjects will be taught in tried-and-true formats augmented by modern teaching understandings in a politically neutral environment. If you feel that you or your children have been inadequately taught valuable skills that enhance quality of life and create an informed citizen, then please consider additional education in the arts, sciences, and humanities.
Curricula will be established with participation of the learner (and/or parents), with clear learning goals established. Adult learners will be taught in accordance with Bloom's Taxonomic Model of Adult Learning, focusing on contextualizing new information with personally relevant experience.
The focus of this formalized classical education is on reading comprehension, historical awareness, procedural investigation, and most importantly critical thinking skills. It will also provide insight into governance, civic engagement, prioritizing deliberate thinking, and the historical precedents of modern global politics.
