My greatest passion is seeing my students succeed and grow under my instruction. I strongly feel building a solid foundations and making real-world connections in math leads to continual success. My teaching style encourages students to enjoy learning math while building confidence moving forward. My lessons focus on closing gaps through daily formative evaluations.
I enjoy seeing the lightbulb turn on, with that aw ha moment.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As I meet a new student I am interested in understanding various aspects of the student. I compile this information from parents concerns, diagnostic, and teacher-student discussion. this will help me create a plan that caters specifically to the individual.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently, I am studying a masters degree specializing in middle grade mathematics, rounding out my undergraduate background in elementary education. I have been teaching for 13 years and tutoring for 8 years in various settings – tutoring small and large groups, private individual tutoring, and online one-on-one sessions.

I charge $30 per hour. Normally meeting with my student twice a week.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with various level of students; accelerated, gifted, high achievers, students with disabilities and English as a second language (ESOL)
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of my students writing thank you letters and cards in appreciation of the impact I have made in their lives. I recently, had a graduating senior to send an email thanking me for encouraging her in my class, and that she will continue her studies in teaching.

When talking to a teacher about your needs, be specific. Be intentional about the questions you need answered, so the response can be helpful.
