Kennedy Piano Studio - Dynamic Music

Leslie holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Applied Piano Performance from Mercer University, a Master’s of Music Education degree from Florida State University, and Orff-Schulwerk Certification levels I and II. She is also certified from Musik Garten for Music Makers - At The Keyboard. She held a Florida teaching certificate for grades K-12.

Leslie currently teaches students ranging from pre-school through adults in piano (private and group lessons); guitar, and organ at her home studio, Dynamic Music! ~ “Where Music is Dynamic! There she combines singing, movement, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, acting, music history, theory and composition into her lessons with students. Leslie also enjoys arranging music and composing teaching pieces for her students. In 2002 she arranged and published A Gamut of Gelt: Songs For Chanukah.

She also taught “Mommy and Me” classes at The Music Class and at Tumbletots. Leslie has taught general music; recorder; ukulele; chorus; and produced musicals in public and private schools and synagogues in Georgia and Florida.

Leslie is an active member of the Music Teachers’ National Association; The Georgia Music Teachers’ Association, (where she held a position on the Executive Board); the North DeKalb Music Teachers’ Association, (where she is a past president); and the North Fulton Music Teachers’ Association (where she is currently the communications editor). She is involved in the National Federation of Music clubs and has been Chairman of the North DeKalb Senior Club, since its inception in 2000. Leslie is the Georgia Federation of Music Clubs Federation from 2019-2021. Leslie has also been chairman of the North Atlanta chapter of The American College of Musicians since 2001; and adjudicates yearly for the ACM Guild Auditions, as well as for the NFMCs’ Spring Festivals. Leslie was listed in Who’s Who Among American Teachers for 2005 and 2006.

Leslie enjoys teaching music to all levels and ages! She is passionate about helping develop life-long music lovers and learners!
