She knows music well and takes the time to explain it well to children, including music theory. In my experience many children music instructors skip the theory because they only want to show the kids plying, but this leads to weak musicians. If you want your child to be a strong musician, Holly is the right instructor!

My son has been taking ukulele lessons with Holly for 2 years. We love her on a personal level, but also love her teaching. She is energetic and great with kids. She’s patient and accommodating. Her book and technique is superior to other methods we’ve tried. My son says she’s funny too! Her home is comfortable with AC and a pretty water view. We highly recommend Holly to all those thinking about lessons!

Holly teaches ukulele to our 6yo son. We love that she is enthusiastic and engaged. Her method is very comprehensive. Not only does she insist on proper techniques, she also has him working on composition and encourages him to embrace other art forms to help with his rhythm. She maintains good communication and makes every thing from payment to scheduling effortless. We are so very happy that she teaches in Hawaii Kai! No driving to town!
