About
I grew up playing classical and jazz music so I have a strong foundation in music theory. I bring a fun approach to music lessons and love sharing my gift of music. My teaching style allows new musicians to develop a deep understanding and connect it with the knowledge you already have. I really enjoy seeing new musicians playing music sooner than they expected and the joy it brings to their life.
What’s not to love about music?
I truly enjoy inspiring new musicians! I know a lot of people feel like you must be born with musical talent but I believe anyone can learn with hard work and help.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During my first lesson with a student we discuss our goals for lessons and make a plan. I also help my student find a rental instrument, assist them in purchasing an instrument or help them get their own instrument up to playable condition for lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing music for 27 years and teaching for 12 years. I started teaching when I was in school for music and have always enjoyed sharing my passion. I have taught children as young as age three but now specialize in helping adults meet their musical goals quickly.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer private lessons, group immersion classes (ukulele, guitar, piano) and monthly tuition packages.
$120/ month (2) 50 minute lessons
$220/month (4) 50 minute lessons
$600 8 week immersive group class for ukulele, guitar, piano or voice. This class prepares you to navigate learning your instrument independently after the 8 weeks or continue with intermediate private lessons. You will be playing music in 8 weeks! Very exciting, fast paced class.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved music and started teaching when I was in college.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as three and adults of all ages. I am a multi-instrumentalist so I have had a variety of students. Most recently I find great joy and helping singers and public speakers find their voice. I also work with a lot of song writing students and adult beginners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Finding the right mentor can make a huge difference. Find someone who you feel comfortable around and inspired by!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I feel it is important to have a plan and think about your personal goals before choosing a teacher. Music is so expansive and it helps to have a plan so your teacher can help direct you towards your goal.
