Cacey's Piano/Music Lessons

Hello! I have been playing piano for many years. I first started learning music theory, concepts at 6 years old from an older cousin who was autistic, but a genius. He played any kind of music by ear. He played multiple instruments as well, besides the piano. He was also an exceptional artist, painting and drawing anything around him from people, to animals and nature.

At 10 years old he told my mom that he taught me everything he knew (except reading music notes, which he didn’t read, and said I needed a real piano teacher).

I continued to play on my own and the ability to recognize how to break music down by ear and at 12 years old, I taught myself an advanced piece of music by Bach. I wanted to learn it badly enough that I taught myself how to read music. My mom then enrolled me in lessons for about two years. But my teachers even said then that I did not need them except for the consistency and encouragement to keep going.

Music is a great love for me. I have hearing loss in both ears but feel and experience music deeply. I would love to start, encourage your child on the journey of learning, experiencing music both visually and through sensory means (fingers, hands, etc.) I think learning a classical instrument, such as piano, is a lost tool that children can benefit from positively and apply that knowledge to other areas.

I use basic, piano curriculum books, that do not require a lot of investment, to keep the costs low. The benefit to that is that it’s consistent, your child doesn’t feel overwhelmed, while having fun learning the basics.

The goal is to get them self-learning, self-invested and enjoy the process/journey of music that will be with them the rest of their life.
