About

My passion for art, drawing, and illustration started when I was very young, around the age of six. I enjoy watching each student grow as they work through each lesson. A student's progress is dependent upon how much effort the student puts into each lesson and how much the student practices the skills they have been taught.

I am currently teaching visual arts to preschool through eighth grade while studying and working towards a Master of Science in Art and Design Education. I enjoy teaching what I love to do and that is creating art! I like to engage students with stories about well-known artists while demonstrating how to work with various mediums such as pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, watercolors, ink, sculpture, and digital technology. My background experience has always been in design and in the arts with my most recent teaching experience ranging from children up to adults. I am a working artist, graduate student, creative professional, and educator skilled in Drawing, Illustration, Graphic Design, Surface Pattern Design, Apparel Design, Product Development, and Small Business.

How does lillustrate work?

You book lessons with me online through my website.

Each lesson, whether you're booking a lesson package or just booking a single lesson, last 60 minutes per lesson.

Mileage and other curriculum prep has been put together and are all inclusive of the prices for lessons.

Drawing supplies are not part of the pricing and are not provided by lillustrate. After booking lessons, your lessons will be confirmed via email and you will receive a list of drawing supplies that will be needed for your lessons.

Why should you book an illustration lesson with me?

I have over thirty years of art and design experience. I have worked with children, teens, and adults.

I have also taught Drawing, Illustration, and Computer Design courses at the college level in the past.

When you are looking for an instructor, my suggestion for you as the student is to think about what kind of drawing you would like to concentrate on.

Would you like to focus on cartoon and character drawings or would you like to focus on life drawing which is more still life and the human body as an art form?

Are you a seasoned illustrator and have you taken any drawing courses over many years or are you a beginner?

Let's illustrate together! Learn. Create. Master.

I look forward to getting to know you through your illustrations!

She knew what I wanted to know and I was able to understand and follow her. I learned!

Hello and how may I help you achieve your goals as an artist? Here are a few interesting facts about me. I have taught Drawing, Illustration, and Computer Design courses at the college level in the past. I enjoy watching my students progress as they work through each class project. Your progress is dependent upon how much effort you put into the class as well as what you receive from each lesson I provide to you. I usually like to discuss where you are currently at as an individual artist and then we can start where you are and move forward from your level.
When you are looking for a drawing instructor, my suggestion for you as the student is to think about what kind of drawing would you like to concentrate on. Would you like to focus on cartoon and character drawings or would you like to focus on life drawing which is more still life and the human body as an art form? Are you a seasoned illustrator and have you taken any drawing courses over many years or are you a beginner? For those students that would like to learn Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, try to be specific with what you would like to get out of using either of these two applications. Are you looking to use them creatively or just for a one-time project? Also, the use of these applications in a creative capacity requires knowledge of drawing by hand first before you start using an application like this.
