Lisa Goethe-McGinn Flute Studio
About
Hi! I am flutist, Lisa Goethe-McGinn. I operate a busy and progressive studio in which I have been teaching for 25+ years. I teach Flute (Traditional & Suzuki) and Recorder to all ages & levels; ranging from 4 year olds in my Suzuki Flute instruction up to 80+ for adult hobbyists coming back to or starting a new passion, from 9 year olds in band & orchestra to college & professional level students.
I am happy to say that besides my students enjoying a happy musical life, many continually audition into the top ensembles in their schools, and have been selected for ILMEA All-State and Regional ensembles. Students from my studio have earned positions with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Naperville Youth Symphony Orchestra, Protege Symphony Orchestra and West Suburban Youth Symphony, and have won prizes in the Chicago Flute Club Competition and Festival of Flutes. I am proud to write that I have had students go on to study music in college and other amazing professional fields and have been accepted into schools such as University of Illinois, Illinois State University, University of Minnesota, Emory University, American University, Tulane University and University of Southern California-San Diego. Many of my students have continued participating in music ensembles and enjoying music as hobbyists into their adult lives; balancing music with their professional careers!
