About

Hello! My name is Molly. I’m a native of Tucson, AZ and began playing the cello at age 10. Growing up in a family full of musicians, I developed love for music at an early age. I currently live in Chicago, IL and am an active teacher and performer in the area. I earned my Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance from Arizona State University and my Master of Music degree in Cello Performance from DePaul University. I teach aspiring cellists of all ages as both a Suzuki and Traditional instructor. I am registered in Suzuki Books 1-3. I maintain a private cello studio and teach private and group classes at the Merit School of Music. I have also taught at Terra Sounds School of Music and Arts, the People’s Music School, Southport Performing Arts Conservatory, City Strings Chicago, Music For Kids NFP, and Sherry-Brener Ltd. In addition to teaching, I am also a performer. I hold a position with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and have performed with other orchestras including the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Iowa, Illinois Symphony Orchestra, and the New Philharmonic Orchestra. I am enthusiastic about various genres of music and have performed and/or recorded with artists such as KYGO, Noname Hiding, and Sidewalk Chalk, in addition to many local Chicago artists. When I’m not playing the cello, I’m most likely journaling, taking pictures, drinking coffee, listening to hip hop and bluegrass, and playing chess.

Music has been a passion of mine since I was a child. My parents, grandparents, and sister all are professional performers and music teachers, so I grew up watching my family teach music lessons. I love being able to help students learn the cello and aid them in doing something that is fun. I believe music is the universal language and I feel very lucky to be a force in guiding people on creating music.
