About
I have been a clarinetist for twenty-six years, and I have performed with multiple orchestras, jazz orchestras, and chamber and wind ensembles. I am passionate about clarinet playing and I have a serious commitment to teaching it. Clarinet instruction and performance is my specialty. My private students have won auditions and secured seats in competitive ensembles, and they have rapidly surpassed their peers in their band and orchestra courses. I offer expert clarinet lessons either at my home studio or at your home.
Teaching music is my passion; helping students learn and achieve success is the greatest reward and I keep coming back for more!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always take the time to get to know each student's level of experience, musical interests, and musical goals. Based on the information I learn, I design a curriculum to best support each individual student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an active freelance clarinetist in Chicago, and I have two degrees in music: 1.) Master of Music in Clarinet Performance, University of Massachusetts Amherst 2.) Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Anna Maria College. I have an excellent reputation for my excellence in teaching and for my high level of mastery as a clarinetist. My private students receive instruction that is engaging, patient, and thoughtful, and I bring a wealth of professional music making experience to each lesson. This has what has made my students so successful. My past students all advanced on their instrument, and they have won seats in all-state ensembles and have gone on to enroll in music degree programs.
