I'm an artist and a teacher. I enjoy making art just as much as I enjoy teaching art to others. Fortunately, I'm able to do both.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student is unique and lessons are planned on an individual basis. After discussing the student's goals interests and desires in the arts an individual lesson plan will be created to both challenge and inspire the student to reach their full artistic potential.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a graduate of the school of the Art Institute of Chicago. I ran the expressive arts program at Misericordia for 16 years, teaching children and adults with developmental disabilities various types of art. Everything from watercolor, acrylic, and oil paining to sculpture, airbrush, installations, murals and wood-burning was explored then my work in the expressive arts program.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Are usually charge $35 per hour. But I would hate to think that someone sincere about taking art lessons would not get to do so because of the price. So I'm willing to adjust the price as much as needed.
How did you get started teaching?
I feel like I'm truly an teacher at heart. I begin assisting students that were in the special education program while I was still in high school. I knew then that I wanted teaching art to be a part of my life.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have been fortunate enough to work with adults and children of all ages. Including 16 years experience working with adults and children with developmental disabilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The opening of Eris Brewery and Cider House. My favorite design and building project for Mass Jones Studio so far.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet with the art instructor to make sure your art goals are compatible with their expertise. Meet and talk to as many instructors as needed until you find one you're comfortable with. The teacher's own art style is less important than your learning style working well with their teaching style.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What types of art they are most interested in exploring, any specific goals (College portfolio development, creating artwork as a personal gift) and what they hope to Achieve from the art lessons.
