About
As a multi-faceted, multidisciplinary musician, I approach teaching from a holistic standpoint. I don't seek to create virtuosos, rather to help my students understand the "why" behind the "what". My methods meet students where they are and helps guide them to where the want to be.
I love to make music! Period. And I thoroughly enjoy sharing it with other people.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first couple of lessons is always more led by the student than by me. While we work on basic fundamental techniques, I get a sense of their musical personalities. I like to see where they are and what their goals are. I don't believe in wasting anyone's time with things they won't actually use. After we figure out where we are, we start mapping out together where we want to get to. From there, I craft a course of action based on what we've learned.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-10+ years of quality training under such master musicians as Susan Levitan (flute), Donna Milanovich (flute), Marc Mellits (composition), Kristen Broberg (Composition), Tyrone Hynes (saxophone/clarinet), Joseph Glymph (orchestral training), and many other phenomenal teachers
-7 years of experience teaching general music, band, chorus, musical theater, and lessons in schools
-8 years of experience teaching private lessons
-9 years of experience conducting both church choirs and school choruses
-15+ years of experience in orchestral, jazz, studio, and stage performance
