About
I have over 10 years of professional playing experience on clarinet and saxophone. I performed over 300 times around the world as the concertmaster of the Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band. I’ve played clarinet and saxophone in a variety of ensembles like: Latin, jazz, orchestra, pit, chamber music, and more. Currently, I am a woodwind teaching artist for Ravinia Festival’s Reach*Teach*Play program, I am the music director of a new nonprofit that has already introduced 30 kids to music with expectations of doubling that number next year - Fit Life Project, and I am the Music Director at my church where I also conduct the choir. I teach nearly 100 people a week (ranging in age from 5-83!) through my numerous teaching ventures. Music is my life. My passion is teaching and helping others achieve success and happiness through music like I have!

How did you get started teaching?
In addition to music, I've done martial arts my whole life and found my first teaching experience there. By the time I completed my third black belt and 16 years later, I had logged over 3000 hours teaching classes of all ages and skill sets. I began teaching music shortly after earning my job with the Marine Corps band 7 years ago and have been teaching privately since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students young as 4 and as old as 83!
