AJDiMauro Trumpet Lessons
About
Hello! My goal as a teacher is to help you get what you want out of the instrument: vibrant tone, perfect rhythm, and complete freedom of expression while performing. I was formerly lead trumpet with Broadway's An American in Paris national tour and have 20 years of playing experience. I hold Master's and Bachelor's degrees in trumpet performance from Northwestern University and was previously enrolled in the Doctorate of Musical Arts program at Yale University in trumpet. I play and teach all styles, specializing in classical and commercial music.
As a teacher, I've maintained a private studio for the last ten years, working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I've served as Lecturer of Trumpet and Brass Faculty at Lake Forest College, the Yale Music in Schools Initiative, and Sistema Ravinia (Waukegan and Chicago, IL). I absolutely love teaching - the interplay between craft and personal understanding fascinates me, and my students inspire me with their intelligence and work ethic.
Public performance is, in a way, the proof of confidence. Music is a platform through which you can gain social presence, healthy posture, conviction, and speaking skills, while at the same time building good habits toward achieving specific goals.
