Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would ask to obtain materials at least two days before so I can get a feel for the work. During the first session I like to try and explain the problems and solutions in depth, and allow the student to be more independent once they demonstrate an understanding for what I taught. If the lessons continue and the student excells, I am happy to drop my rates and help out in a more supportive way and check over work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a senior in high school and have always loved math. Throughout high school I focused on math, business, and Spanish, which I found I excel at but also have a basic understanding for elementary and middle school subjects. I may not be in college yet, but my plans are to major in accounting at DePaul University and minor in spanish, I would appreciate the work, and love working with kids.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Middle school -$17/hr
elementary -$13/hr
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly elementary and middle school, my sister and all of my cousins/family friends are younger and I enjoy teaching simpler subjects. I have worked with high school students before but do orefer to teach younger.
