Typicall the first day for our athletes is a skills evaluation where we run them through a series of drills designed for us to see what their particular strengths and weaknesses are. Athletes recieve a grade on our evaluation sheet and we then create a customized plan for that athletes development. Additionally, athletes will recieve homework tips and drills that can help guide them at home.
All Big Break Trainers have immense basketball experience both in terms of playing and training. Our Trainers all have high school and NCAA playing experience, led by former NCAA D2 standout Terell John. As far as Basketball Training experience goes all Big Break Staff have been training for 5+ years and have had an opportunity to work with and develop some of the best players in the State. Our Staff is under the direct mentorship of one of the world's most renowned trainers in NBA Skills Trainer Micah Lancaster. He was worked with players such as: Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Kyrie Irving and 2018 Most Improved Player of the year Victor Olidipo.
We offer a wide variety of training programs that vary in price. It solely depends on what our athletes feel comfortable with and what their dreams are.
During their playing careers they noticed an apparent need for Elite Skill Trainers in the basketball industry and more specifically in the Chicagoland area. So after training basketball for 4 years as sole proprietors they decided to take a chance and start Big Break Basketball Academy, Chicago's Elite Basketball Training Company.
We have worked with athletes that range from 2nd grade to NCAA D1.
In early June, we had the pleasure of running a camp with about 250 kids for 2 weeks with one of the most respected trainers in the world with NBA Skills Trainer Micah Landcaster. It was amazing too see and understand the amount of detail can be found in the game of basketballl. Since then he has decided to help mentor our program and teach our trainers.
Remember, it when it comes to finding a trainer. It doesn't matter where your trainer played college/ pro basketball at. It only matters if they have a system of developement in place where they have gotten their athletes to that level. Not every great player is a great coach/trainer! The NBA is a direct reflection of that. The most successful coaches in the NBA were not hall of fame worthy players.
1. What is my trainer's track record with players?
2. What is their system of developement?
3. What life lessons can I learn from this person?
4. How serious am I about the game of basketball?
5. Will I give everything my 100% when I am on the court?
