Hello, I'm a graduate of the school of the art Institute of Chicago. I earned my MFA in 1988. I'm a registered expressive art therapist at Misericordia Home in Chicago for individuals who live with various disabilities. I have been here for nearly 28 years. I have tutor people ranging from 6 yrs old to over 66 yrs of age. I have helped Individuals going to major in all styles and vocations of the art world. I have also been on juried shows committees. I show my work all over, mostly here in Chicago at The life force art center. I have my work in private collections world wide. I love paying it forward to young budding artists.
I love my job as an expressive art therapist. This is a major part of my art. I do though create work which is inspired by my spiritual quest.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like the student to get to know me as I get to know them. I'm down to earth and have years of genuine experience. I knew I wanted to go to art school since I was in 9th grade. I want to hear the individual's story, what motivates them and why art is a passion or even a hobby in their life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
MFA, BFA Past tutorial experience. I also specialize in art as therapy which encompasses many paths.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I price by distance, if I'm supplying the material or the person would like that experience. I will even go with you to purchase art supplies. Pricing is discussed and based on Individual needs.
How did you get started teaching?
As a registered expressive art therapist the teaching of art goes hand in hand with the therapy as art.

I have worked with students from all types of diverse back grounds.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say find someone who is down to earth and is able to communicate a inspiring lesson which will enable the student to appreciate themselves which will reinforce their love for art.
