Great teacher and great knowledge of the trumpet! He is understanding of students, knows how to give good advice, and knows how to guide people in the right direction. I’ve been taking lessons with him for 6 years, and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I wanted to take lessons from Ryan primarily to become a jazz trumpet player. I have learned from him that in order to do so, I had to first learn to play the trumpet, which I am doing through flow studies, technical studies and etudes Ryan is teaching me. I think his approach is more in line with how Wynton Marsalis or Al Hirt became great jazz trumpeters, having first learned as much as possible about playing the trumpet. After 9 months with Ryan, my range has expanded, I understand more about music theory and I am playing with more efficiency and confidence. Also, his dog will only sing along with me and no one else.

My son has been learning from Ryan for four years. Ryan is always positive and encouraging. He is an amazing musician and instructor. Under Ryan's guidance, my son has steadily improved in his music.

My experience with Mr. Hobbs has always been very helpful and professional. His level of experience is clearly reflected through his teaching and playing, and I would readily recommend him as an instructor.
