About
Hello! I'm passionate about teaching piano and voice, helping you build skills and confidence, while enjoying yourself along the way!
Watching students light up when they do something they didn't think they could do is the best thing in teaching for me.
I've taught for 20 years, and have auditioned a couple thousand cast members. I focus my teaching on building the foundations of piano and/or voice so you can play or sing anything, not just a couple songs. I understand what directors look for, and also how to just enjoy your music.
Your lessons are customized to your needs and learning style, so you get the most of our lessons.
You get a safe and supportive space to learn, to sing and try and new things. You learn VERY concrete techniques and methods to improve your voice and piano playing, and you get LOTS of support to help you along the way.
You also receive lots of coaching in what works best in different performance and musical settings. How to tell stories through song, how to handle nerves, and build music into something you enjoy, whether for yourself, or for performing at any level.
You can check out reviews of my teaching on Facebook- cut and paste : www.Facebook.com/JenniferDaleMusic
into your internet browser. And look under reviews.
We work through all aspects of performance, and if you compose, we work on your original pieces or songs too. I customize my teaching style to each student so you can get the most of each lesson.
A bit about me:
I've music directed over 65 shows, trained as a classical pianist, and played about every gig you can come up with (and several that you haven't).
I've performed over 500 church services, I've sung classical music to vocal jazz to musical theater, and I've taught for over 20 years. You can check out my website at www.jenniferdalemusic.com for more information.
Looking forward to connecting with you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Generally I have a conversation with them before we even have a lesson. I want to learn a little about you, determine your goals, personality, and discuss my methods and how I work.
During our first lesson, I do an evaluation of the your skills in a number of areas so I can see our starting point. From there we work together weekly on both technique and repertoire to give you the confidence and skill to build you as a musician.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University in music, where I trained as a concert pianist and did a double major with marketing.
I've music directed for over a decade, worked with over 3,000 people in over 50 musicals. I've also worked with kids choirs, private lessons, church choirs, vocal coaching and special projects for almost 15 years.
As I pianist, I've played and performed in most genres, as a solo artist, part of a band, quartet, part of an orchestra, and have played and conducted numerous shows. I'm familiar with church music, both classical and contemporary, as well playing pop, contemporary, charts, and some jazz. I've also done a lot of singing and playing, which is its own skill set.
