About
I have been a professional Artist for over 15 years, showing my Art across the country and in a few others around the world. I was a manager and Artist teacher for small classes, to large houses, to kids birthdays and everything in-between. We had a large art studio with a bar inside so I've seen first-hand how some people need to loosen up, in various ways to get comfortable with painting or drawing and I'm very encouraging and want to make sure it stays fun. I have a BFA and an eccentric past to "draw" inspiration from! Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If you are looking to create a new painting within 1.5 - 3 hours, (either in one session or broken into separate lessons) at any skill level I typically recommend starting with Acrylic on Canvas in a medium size of 16" x 20". It’s a fast-drying, non-toxic paint that’s fun and easy to work with. I can provide materials for the first lesson for $40, including Canvas, Paint, Brushes, etc., everything you'll need to create a new painting! I can provide you with a recommended list of materials for future lessons if you plan to shop on your own. I can also email you examples of step by step instructions to give you an idea of what to expect.
If this sounds like something you would like to set up or have any more questions feel free to contact me anytime and we can talk more, I look forward to hearing from you!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional Artist for over 18 years, exhibiting my paintings around the nation and abroad.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Atlanta College of Art, majoring in Painting and Printmaking.
I have worked at a Studio Manager and Painting Instructor at Pinot's Palette, teaching classes from private lessons up to 50 adults, (Children's classes private lessons up to 15 students) typically creating a complete Acrylic painting in 2-4 hours.
I am classically trained in Oil Painting, love teaching and painting in Acrylics, and am available to teach watercolor, figure drawing, charcoal, en plein air, etc. I customize each private lesson according to your individual preferences, style, and skill level!
I accept commissions in many media and have past and ongoing partnerships and representation with well-known galleries, Acrylic manufacturing, and Chicago businesses, as well as experience volunteering in CPS and nonprofit 826Chicago tutoring elementary level children art.
